Following the success of the 2021 and 2022 Christmas Party Series, featuring Chris Ingham’s Dean Street All Stars, it’s a welcome return in 2023 for our third series.

Capturing the mood of a joyous party spirit at Christmas time, the Dean Street All Stars deliver a 75- minutes swinging medley programme of your Christmas favourite melodies, together with some lesser heard gems. It’s an opportunity to forget the current difficult times. Come along with your friends and enjoy a real cracker of a lunch time celebration.

Ben Holder is one of the most gifted young jazz violinists in the UK. Taught classically from the age of six, he studied at the Birmingham Conservatoire. During his classical studies, Ben began listening to jazz – classic masters such as Benny Goodman and Oscar Peterson and of course the great jazz violinists including Stephane Grappelli, Joe Venuti and the awe inspiring Stuff Smith. He is already in high demand across the U.K. jazz scene.

Chris Ingham on Piano leads the Dean Street All Stars and needs no introduction to our Dean Street regulars. Whether leading his REBOP band playing the music of Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock; hosting his Jazz At The Movies group, or performing the stories, anecdotes and music of greats such as Hoagy Carmichael, Stan Getz and Dudley Moore, Chris’ concerts deliver pure joy, entertainment and great music to sold out audiences.

Completing the line up are the tuneful tones of Joe Pettitt – double bass and the rhythmic genius that is George Double -drums

Wednesday December 6^th

vocalist Jo Harrop, already building a sparkling reputation as one of our very best, jazz singers, makes her Dean Street Christmas Party debut this lunchtime with delightful evocative performances of many great Christmas songs.

Thursday December 7^th

vocalist Joanna Eden is not only a star of Jazz At The Movies but also admired for her interpretations of the music of Joni Mitchell and Ella Fitzgerald, appearing in the Jazz Divas series at The Pheasantry

Friday December 8^th

Denny Ilett, director of the Bristol jazz festival is a remarkable singer and knock-out guitarist, embracing swing, bebop, blues, rock and everything in between.
