After sell out performances across the country, Chris Ingham’s group Jazz At The Movies – featuring Joanna Eden, return to Piano Smithfield, for a fun filled evening tour through some of the film world’s most swinging and romantic music.
JAZZ AT THE MOVIES is a unique jazz group formed to interpret movie themes and soundtrack songs taken from a wide-range of silver screen sources both familiar and obscure.
With writings from Bacharach, Barry, Bricuse, Carmichael, Mancini , Gershwin, Sondheim and so many more; with jazz standards including “The Man That Got Away”, “Close Enough For Love”, “Speak Low”, “On Green Dolphin Street” and even “Pink Panther”, audiences are spell bound by the combination of joyous film memories and inspiring music.
With a reputation for vibrant music, deep repertoire and droll presentation, JATM have become a regular sell-out not only at Dean Street, but also at Ronnie Scott’s, Piano Smithfield at the Barbican, the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room and many jazz clubs, theatres and arts centres throughout the UK.
JATM features evocative vocals by acclaimed singer Joanna Eden, bewitching saxophone and clarinet from star player in the John Wilson Orchestra, Mark Crooksplus atmospheric textures and grooves from Chris Ingham – piano, Joe Pettitt – double bass and George Double – drums
