8pm show

Two Shows at 1pm and at 8pm

Pizza Express Jazz Club, Dean Street, Soho, London

Following two sold-out concerts at Pizza Express Live, Holborn, in the November 2022 EFG London Jazz Festival, JBGB Events are delighted, a year later, to bring to Dean Street the legendary, award- winning, evergreen singer, Elaine Delmar, performing in these double header concerts of great swinging songs, with the 16-piece Mark Nightingale Big Band.

“a superlative gig and a highlight of the 2022 London Jazz Festival” – Jazz Journal

Long in the planning, these concerts capture the sensational experience of a great swinging 16-piece big band of top jazz musicians, playing outstanding arrangements, supporting one of the UK’s most loved and inspiring legendary singers

Elaine Delmar is one of the ageless, evergreen singing stars that we have... as beautiful and talented as ever... she’s marvellous!” Sir Michael Parkinson

Sit back and enjoy the wonderful songs by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Richard Rodgers, Harry Warren, Jimmy Van Heusen and many more.

We must treasure and savour to the full this truly supreme performer, reminiscent of no one so much as Sarah Vaughan in her prime” – Jazz Journal

Elaine's popular appearances at Ronnie Scott's Club, The Pheasantry and Crazy Coqs have shown her to be remarkably adaptable in a jazz setting, having worked with such jazz giants as Herb Ellis, Benny Carter and Stephane Grappelli. Her live album at Ronnie Scott's evidences a singer who remains in the prime of her performing life.

JBGB Events are thrilled to explode the myth that evenings of great singing and big band support are but distant memories.

Big Band arrangements are lost. Not true!

Elaine has searched her extensive library to bring to life the many big band arrangements she has filed away which were created by greats including Alan Ganley, Steve Grey, Lex Jasper, Duncan LamontPat Smyth and more.

Big Band concerts are instrumental only. Not true!

In the 20th century the great singers – Sinatra, Martin, Ella, Bennett all performed with Big Bands .

You can’t bring together the musicians to play this music. Not True!

Multi award winning musician, writer and arranger Mark Nightingale, has brought together 16 outstanding musicians to perform this magical music, with an ace rhythm section of Barry Green, Simon Thorpe and Bobby Worth.

But the maths are inhibitive. Not true!

With the support and encouragement of the Pizza Express Group coupled with the music management expertise of promoters  JBGB Events, we have created a plan designed to attract the enthusiastic audiences for whom Elaine and Mark’s  Big Band are must get to concerts
