James Hudson
- The Nat King Cole Song Book

The Pheasantry, Kings Road, Chelsea, London

JBGB are proud to present this exclusive concert fronted by sought-after jazz vocalist James Hudson, featuring the iconic songs of American jazz icon, Nat King Cole

Nat King Cole, was an American vocalist and jazz pianist who recorded over one hundred songs that became hits in the pop charts. His trio was the model for small jazz ensembles that followed and his distinctive piano, guitar format we follow exactly in this concert.

Since featuring as the male vocalist with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, James has recorded his debut album “TOMORROW”, (set for release early in 2021) and from that album has just released his first single 'It Had to Be You'. He has performed to sold-out crowds at Ronnie Scotts’ Jazz Club, Pizza Express Dean St, Hôtel de Paris (Monte Carlo), London’s Ritz Hotel and other top venues across UK & Europe.

Joining James will be in-demand guitarist and musical director Nick Fitch (Claire Martin, Tina May, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, BBC Radio 2’s Sound Of The 60s, Lee Mead, Hamilton, Book of Mormon, 42nd Street) with Liam Dunachie on Piano (worked with Jim Mullen, Beverley Knight, Henry Lowther and Brandon Allen.

Sold-out shows earlier this year  at Pizza Express Soho and the Studio 5 Live - Wembley. James, Nick and the band will be performing timeless jazz standards from Nat’s Songbook, including “Smile”, “L-O-V-E”, “Route 66”, “Unforgettable” and much more.

Here’s James earlier this year with a live performance of  the music of Nat King Cole.
