Judy & Lisa - The music of
Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli

Performed by Trudy Kerr & Ruby Gascoyne

At Crazy Coqs, 20 Sherwood Street, Soho, London W1F 7ED

Trudy Kerr and Ruby Gascoyne gave us a real musical feast with the music of Judy and Liza at the Crazy Coqs in June 2021. So with audience requests for more ringing in our ears  it’s with no hesitation we feature their return.

Judy Garland and her daughter Liza Minnelli,  created not only amazing and memorable solo performances, but also some of the most magical double act evenings across the world and especially just up the road at The London Palladium.

Judy Garland achieved international stardom as an actress in both musical and dramatic roles, as a recording artist and on the concert stage. The films “A Star Is Born” and “The Wizard of Oz” and the song “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” are forever her properties.

Her daughter Liza Minnelli, not only a great actress and singer, but also dancer, created her own anthems including “New York, New York” and “Maybe This Time” plus her Oscar winning triumph in “Cabaret”

Trudy Kerr, following her earlier Crazy Coqs evenings showcasing the music of Doris Day and Judy Garland, is again joined by her young daughter Ruby Gascoyne to create, in their own individual styles, some of the musical magic that comes only from close family performances

Trudy Kerr is renowned as one of the UK's finest jazz vocalists. Mojo Magazine says of her singing "Trudy Kerr is the genuine article - She is a Joy!" All About Jazz has described her as "100% real jazz musician with fluid phrasing and a mellifluous, warm and sensuous tone."

Trudy got her big break when Ronnie Scott asked her to perform at his Club and her career grew from there. She has performed at many major venues and festivals in the UK as well as engagements in Europe, her homeland Australia and the Far East

Trudy has released twelve albums on the Jazzizit Record Label and has collaborated both live and in the studio with a legion of world class musicians.

Ruby Gascoyne, Trudy’s daughter, studied Musical Theatre at the BRIT School of Performing Arts and Technology and is currently studying a Foundation at ALRA drama school. Following last years professional debut at Crazy Coqs she was immediately invited to sing with the  Darius Brubeck Quartet and shared the stage in the EFG London Jazz Festival with solos and duets alongside the irrepressible Liane Carroll.

Accompanying Trudy and Ruby are the established music legends of Tom Cawley on piano and Geoff Gascoyne on double bass.
