We never tire of promoting concerts by Liane Carroll. A brilliant jazz pianist; emotive singer and consummate entertainer, she always presents wonderful shows. And audiences for her sold out events are regularly requesting her return for another evening.
So it’s without hesitation we welcome these two additional Crazy Coqs concerts, but this time with a difference. Liane welcomes as her guests two of the best and brightest young British jazz singers, Ruby Gascoyne, and for this concert Immy Churchill, to share her stage and sing, not only solo, but also inventive duets.
Liane Carroll had her first four albums all enjoyed four-starred reviews, and, “Ballads” received ***** from Jazz Journal. "Seaside", won CD of the year at the 2015 British Jazz awards.
A winner of the British Jazz and Parliamentary Jazz Awards she received the 2016 Gold award from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors
She is a regular performer in the great jazz music venues.
To give you a big flavour of what’s in store, here is Liane in a fabulous streamed concert in trio format, from Ronnie Scott’s earlier this year
Immy Churchill came to the attention of a wider jazz audience with her performances with Norma Winstone and Dave Holland. From school in Bedford she was recently awarded a scholarship to study jazz singing at RAM - The Royal Academy of Music, where she is now in the middle of a four year course and the only singer as one of just nine jazz students. She embraces not only lyrical qualities but also the joys of singing wordlessly and improvising.
We are sure you will enjoy the foretaste of what Immy brings to Crazy Coqs with this Ryedale Festival concert theme, of “Spring will be a little late this year “
Don’t delay in booking your tickets. You are guaranteed a great evening with the wonderful Liane Carroll and her guest Immy Churchill.
