Growing up in Canada Tammy was already singing at the tender age of three. In June 2000 she released her debut album “Legacy”, in memory of her mother, which was internationally received and led to appearances on national and international TV and radio, as well as gigs at the Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver Jazz Festivals, In London she has performed at Ronnie Scotts, Pizza Express and The Other Palace – singing the music of Julie London, as well as venues all over Europe.
Now resident in England and Portugal, Tammy has been heard on Radio stations across the country, including Jamie Cullum’s show on BBC Radio 2, Jenni Murray’s Woman’s Hour on BBC Radio 4 and Robert Elms BBC Radio London.
This Jazz Divas concert will feature her new album of Tammy’s creative gypsy jazz music settings of the poems of the legendary Portuguese writer Fernando Pessoa, one of the most significant literary figures of the 20th century and the greatest poet in the evocative Portuguese language.
