The Magical Music of Stephen Sondheim With Joanna Eden

Tuesday October 4

Magical Music of Stephen Sondheim With Joanna Eden

Crazy Coqs, Brasserie Zedel, Shelton Street, Soho, London

After her earlier this year, sold-out concert “Embraceable Ella” it’s a most welcome return to Crazy Coqs of the delightful voice and sensitive interpreter, the vocalist & pianist Joanna Eden, with her trio, giving  voice to the magical music of the greatest writer and composer of the theatre in the 20th century, Stephen Sondheim.

Already established as a leading interpreter of the music of Joni Mitchell and Ella Fitzgerald and performing with Jazz At The Movies, Joanna Eden owns up to her passion for musical theatre and treads expertly, the line between jazz cool and heart-filled storytelling.

She brings to this concert her love of the music of ‘The Godfather of Modern Musical Theatre’ Stephen Sondheim, covering work from West Side Story to Into the Woods, via ‘Send In The Clowns’ from A Little Night Music and  explores the jazzy side of Sondheim without losing the theatrical truth.

Enjoying an enthusiastic audience earlier this year at Piano Smithfield, this concert at Crazy Coqs, is a must for those who have a passion for jazz and musical theatre.

Joanna is joined by the world class duo, no strangers to Crazy Coqs supporters, of George Double  - drums, (here with Jazz At The Movies) and  Andrés Lafone, (here with Joanna for her music of Joni Mitchell show)

Here’s a beautiful example of what this concert has in store for our Crazy Coqs audience with Joanna singing “Send In The Clowns”.
