For this our second Chelsea Lunch concert we welcome the return to the Pheasantry of Luiz Morais, the Brazilian 7- string guitar master, after sold out performances here; at Pizza Express Jazz Club Dean Street, and many other leading London venues, now joined by the outstanding Brazilian singer Carolina Lelis, for a dynamic duo concert of their “Brilliant Brazil” music.

Brilliant Brazil includes classic melodies from Villa-Lobos & Antonio Carlos Jobim, including well know favourites “One Note Samba”and “The Girl from Ipanema” and more, plus compelling music from many other South American music masters, together with their original compositions.

Luiz Morais has been playing the guitar from a young age. Immersed in the vibrant Brazilian musical culture, he built his strong musical foundations playing rhythms such as Samba, Choro, Bossa Nova and the Northeastern rhythm of Forró. He graduated in Popular Music from the University of Rio de Janeiro and can count among his teachers the great masters of Brazilian guitar such as  Carrilho, Braga & Gnattali.

Carolina Lelis, with an Acting Diploma from Stella Adler Studio in New York, grew up in her parent’s band travelling throughout Brazil, and went on to pursue an acting career parallel to singing. During her 4 years in NY, she performed in theatres and at the famous Plaza Hotel and Red Lion. She appeared with success in the Brasil version of The Voice before moving to London some 6 years ago.

Carolina Lelis and Luiz Morais bring their Brilliant Brazil music to The Pheasantry for this Sunday lunchtime concert party of toe tapping, hip swaying, finger popping samba, bossa nova and choro music.
